Choti choti par moti batein…

Here are a few things that will ensure a healthier you … and even help reduce some extra-pounds… These are not mere picks from places.. these are somethings that I’ve found effective
(Jotting them down here, more as a later reference…)

Food Fundaes:
- Decide on Diet plan. In a good diet plan, you need not compromise on quantity, just improve the quality!
- Cutting down of food or skipping meals is not the right answer to reduce! And more often that not, you subject your body to further stress by suddenly cutting down on food intake. This might signal your body to react in an unpleasant manner- your body might get signals of expecting to move into a starvation mode and hence might react by conserving calories for the rainy dayà This implies while your food intake is suddenly cut off, you are not burning the regular desired amount of calories hence, not helping you reduce- but worse, even causing you to gain weight. ( I received this fundae from a Doc relative)
- Golden Rule- Breakfast like a king; mediocre lunch; poor dinner
- Be vary of anything white and make sure you don’t have more than 2 of them together – eg- Sugar, Rice, Milk, Curd.
- Avoid coconut, fried stuff, ice creams, chocolates and anything that tastes sweet immediately. Funda being don’t give your body easy sugar- Give your body those types of food that would require some effort in breaking and in the process if the calories that are required to break down the food exceeds the calorific value of the food that is being broken down, you end up in negative calories--- means right food is also one way of reducing.
- Substitute a portion of your meal with fruits and pulses. Banana and mango are a big NO! Fruits mean negative calories and a good source of vitamins and minerals!
Water- The answer for everything!
- Drink Lots of Water. The answer to all the problems arising out of sedentary jobs is “Water”. At least 2.5 l during office hrs. Gives you’re the much wanted breaks, frees you from pimples, cleanses blood, good for the urinary system, good for the eyes(breaks the constant staring at the monitor).

Make Fitness an integral part
- No substitute for exercising. If you are interested in just reducing/maintaining weight (and not into body building etc), walking is the best exercise- as it exercises the entire body.
- Check your weight daily.
- Make sure you exercise your back and neck to bend backwards everyday. Most of our natural movements call for forward bending movements. To compliment these movements, exercises in the opposite direction are essential to ensure relaxation for the muscles binding your neck and back.- ( received this fundae from a Yoga teacher) ( Ardha chakrasana- for Back)

Mind games- Ready yourself
- Treat your body as another entity outside of you, that you have the responsibility of grooming- Sometimes you need to be hard on it, coz you know certain things need to be learnt even if it is through the hard way! And make sure you pamper it too--- not with junk food, may be…with a relaxing massage.
- Keep yourself busy… Coz idle time is when you dump junk into yourself!

Myths?—Understand the science behind them
- Honey in warm water helps you reduce--- This is not entirely true by itself. Honey helps increase BMR ( Body Metabolic Rate). So with honey water, if you exercise well and take the right food, you tend to improve the cal-burn. So, just honey water on its own cant do any miracles.
- The fasts recommended by Hinduism do good for your body. These fasts do not solicit a full cut-down on intake of food- they just substitute it with fruits. And fruits are essential for a healthy body.

tch tch....

i have tens of things that i have been wanting to write about... but amazingly, all i can bring myself to write about is -"kick off of PRE-FT"...that happened at approx 10.30 pm last night!

The kick i got out of seeeing the screens that we would be shortly testing is inexplicable... something like the way i felt after skydiving... Now, it remains to be decided how much more of this journey of putting - CSS n CSI under the microscope is gonna be comparable to falling from 12,000 ft ... one moment your a bird and in 10 min you are sprawled all over teh grond - much like a beaten mosquito!

Guess am just being paranoid!...Well, this project is a different experience...and change has been the only constant so far!... and i've been - overcautious... For the next 2 months fingers will remain to be crossed!

Remaining of fuss ball

Day2:
I was in the attcking line in the first half. There was a fundu pass from Milind which I (not-so-much-by- fluke) converted to a goal-- what i liked about this was i took a jump to hit the goal..:)
After that i whatever happen... is hazy... the opponents took some good goals.. and with some they got lucky. I was moved to mid-field in the second half ( they say- that was not-so-good move.. since i fit better in the attack.. not cuz am good, only cuz the Bali is excellent and opponents end up just marking him and I am open... )
Mahesh, our superb goli got injured!

Anyways, we lost!

Day 3:
I started with being in the mid-field. We started very good. I was really happy when one of my passes got translated into a goal by Ajith( Mahesh's replacement..very impressive dribbling). We scored the first 2 and it began to feel that we'll make it... but then again something happened and we got royally royally smashed-- it ended with 9-3!
Losing sucks!!!...
Ya .. its the game and how you play thats important... and yes i did enjoy the game and i learnt so much more about the game... but whatever mann.. we lost!
We play the Vikings for the 3rd place tomorrow and I have a hurt ankle...:(
Yeah... dont quiet realize what happened.. somebodies ankle.. and i tripped.. one foot even hit me hard just below the shin...

Losing so many times sucks!!!... Cant there be a game where we never lose? Everybody wins...
whyz life like this?... why is defeat so distasteful... uggghhhhhh!!!!

Why am i fretting over a tini-mini game... which probably i wont even remember in a few week's time... naaww.. thats not true.... I am always gonna remember this!.. well i hit 2 goals!!!...may be i can even tell my granchildren that their gramma rocked at fussssssssss balll....

That was my first goal ever! Bali and Lax are the other two ecstatic ppl and Rahul is the one in Agony...;)
